ST. LOUIS — Blueprint Coffee co-owner Mike Marquad used to drive past the then-Darwin Chambers manufacturing facility, at 1600 S. 39th St., on his way to work and think to himself, “That’d make for a good coffee shop.”

Now, that thought is on its way to becoming a reality.

The St. Louis-based specialty coffee roaster on Friday opened its new headquarters and roasting facility in the 39th Street property, which is in the city's Tiffany neighborhood, and it has plans to further build out the space with a new storefront coffeehouse location, Marquad said.

Blueprint purchased the 11,000-square-foot property, which was originally a Kroger grocery store, for $750,000 in August 2022 with the help of an investor group, according to city records and Marquad.
