Woman admits pinning victim with car, fleeing scene to see kids before going to jail, police say

"...the defendant admitted to using her vehicle to strike the victim and said the reason why she fled was because she wanted to see her kids one last time."

EARTH CITY, Mo. — A woman pinned a victim between her car and a gas pump at an Earth City gas station Saturday night, a written statement from the St. Louis County Police Department said Monday morning.

The suspect, 21-year-old St. Louis resident Epiphany Dismukes, was fighting with two other women at a gas station in the 3200 block of Rider Trail South, near Missouri Route 141, police said.

Dismukes and the victims were fighting unarmed until Dismukes got into her 2014 Dodge Dart and drove the car directly at the first victim, the statement said.

The driver missed the first victim but struck the second victim, pinning her between the car and the gas pump.

"Victim #2 suffered injuries to her ankle, back, and face as well as subsequently going in and out of consciousness," the statement from police said. "Defendant fled the scene and was stopped soon after by police."

Police recognized Dismukes because her clothes matched the clothes reportedly worn by the suspect. They then arrested her.

"After Miranda, [d]efendant admitted to using her vehicle to strike the victim and said the reason why she fled was because she wanted to see her kids one last time before she went to jail," the statement from police said.

Dsimukes faces a first-degree assault charge and a second-degree assault charge. She was held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
