ST. LOUIS — A woman has died after being struck by a car in St. Louis City's Vandeventer Neighborhood on May 3.

The victim was 45-year-old Kisha Jackson, a St. Louis woman from the Marine Villa neighborhood, a written statement released by police on Monday said.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says two pedestrians were walking across the intersection of Page Boulevard and Whittier Street around 11:30 p.m. when one of the pedestrians, Jackson, was struck by a car.

According to the initial investigation, two pedestrians had been waiting for a ride on the southwest corner of the intersection just before the crash. When their ride arrived, the driver of the car parked on the northwest corner of the intersection. The two pedestrians were walking northbound across the intersection when a driver traveling east hit one of the pedestrians.

The driver of the car that struck the woman fled the scene, police said.
