Motorcyclist killed after crashing into back of pickup truck in south St. Louis County identified

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Missouri — A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into the back of a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon in Mehlville. 

A spokeswoman with the St. Louis County Police Department said that the department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons Unit is investigating the fatal crash, which occurred just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Union Road and Park Hill Court.

Officers with the South County Precinct responded and found a man who was thrown from his motorcycle. The man was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but died shortly after. 

A preliminary investigation found that the man was speeding northbound on Union Road toward Park Hill Court when he hit the back of the pickup truck that was also traveling northbound. 

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. 

On Wednesday, St. Louis County police identified the man as Nathaniel Tullock, 22. 

The county police department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is helping with the ongoing investigation.
