ST. LOUIS — Join the Saint Louis Art Museum to welcome new Americans. If you've ever seen anyone become an American citizen, you know how special it is. The Saint Louis Art Museum is hosting a naturalization ceremony Friday morning to welcome in new citizens. The idea came from the director of the museum, Min Jung Kim, who hosted a naturalization ceremony last year. She says it was so popular in its first year, last year... That the museum is bringing it back with hopes to make it a yearly tradition. The event is open to the public and starts at 11.
Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day. Bookstores around the region are celebrating independent book stores as part of a national one-day event. National Independent Bookstore Day is held on the last Saturday in April every year. Many bookstores are celebrating big and small. Afterwords Books, Betty’s Books, Left Bank Books, Leviathan Bookstore, Main Street Books, Neighborhood Reads, Subterranean Books, The Book House, The Noir Bookshop, and The Novel Neighbor are all celebrating.
Celebrate the St. Louis Zoo’s Party for the Planet. The zoo is keeping the momentum going after Earth Day with the mindset of one health, one climate. The event is Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m . It is free for all guests and happens rain or shine. You can meet climate solution experts, including zoo educators and scientists. The zoo will provide opportunities to learn how we can help keep our planet and its climate healthy.
Visit Vintage Market Days of St. Louis. The spring market is in effect April 26-28 at the National Equestrian Center in Lake St. Louis. Organizers say it is an "enchanting" event! The spring 2024 market will host new vendors as well as old favorites -- lots of new vintage goods as well.
Learn the history of the 1904 World's Fair at the Missouri History Museum. After nearly a year of renovations, this is the museum's biggest exhibit opening in 25 years. Enjoy turn-of-the-century car displays, cultural music and dance performances, walking tours, specialty food vendors, and more all weekend long. The centerpiece is an expansive model of the fairgrounds and chronicles the fair's continued impact on our area.
