Police release surveillance video of Dellwood crash that injured 2 officers and another driver

Two officers with the North County Police Cooperative and another driver were injured after colliding head-on.

DELLWOOD, Mo. — Police released surveillance video showing a head-on crash that injured two police officers and another driver early Thursday morning near Dellwood City Park.

Police said two officers with the North County Police Cooperative were yielding in the center lane of southbound West Florissant Avenue to make a turn into the parking lot of Tony's Furniture when an oncoming Dodge Nitro SUV swerved into the center lane and struck their SUV head-on. It happened at about 2:30 a.m.

Surveillance video released by police Thursday afternoon showed an SUV crashing head-on into the officers' vehicle as it was stopped with its blinker on.

One of the officers complained of a head injury, and the other suffered an injury to his right eye and a laceration on his leg, police said. The woman driving the SUV also suffered a leg injury.

All three were taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

The police cooperative said in an update that the woman was believed to be driving the SUV "in an impaired manner." Officers obtained a search warrant for a blood sample, which was sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory for analysis.
