Ukraft Cafe and Catering moving to bigger downtown St. Louis space

At the new location within Peabody Plaza, the cafe will be open seven days a week and serve breakfast all day.

ST. LOUIS — Ukraft Cafe and Catering will relocate to a larger space in downtown St. Louis, a move set to triple its physical footprint and provide a hefty boost to its top line.

Co-owners and brothers Matt and Mike Ratz signed a 10-year lease for 6,000 square feet within Peabody Plaza, directly across the street from Kiener Plaza, with plans to open by early July. Ukraft’s current downtown location opened in 2021 and is in a 2,000-square-foot space on the Citygarden Sculpture Park.

Ukraft, which in the new space will brand itself as Ukraft Brunch Cafe at Kiener, will also expand its operations in the larger space. The restaurant will be open seven days a week, up from five, Ratz said. It will additionally serve breakfast all day.

Ukraft launched as a food truck in 2018. It caters to consumers looking for healthy offerings, with soups, sandwiches, salads, grain bowls and smoothies.
