ST. LOUIS — Gastronauts Food Group, a new restaurant group housing local favorites Hi-Pointe Drive-In and Taco Buddha, has launched in St. Louis.

Officials said the group's formation will allow the brands to streamline their operations and cross-market, while also setting them up for both local and national expansion.

Burger joint Hi-Pointe and Mexican restaurant Taco Buddha currently have about 350 employees, a number expected to double under the new banner in the coming years. Gastronauts in that timeframe plans to open between three and five new locations of each concept in what officials called “smaller markets,” like south St. Louis County, west St. Louis County and St. Charles.
