Boil water advisory in place for parts of Eureka through Saturday

Any water for cooking, drinking or cleaning should be brought to a rolling boil for three minutes before use.

EUREKA, Mo. — A boil water advisory has been issued for parts of Eureka, Missouri, from Thursday night until Saturday night.

American Water issued a precautionary boil water advisory for service in the Eureka area as of 7:45 p.m. Thursday due to a loss of water pressure.

The advisory is expected to last for about 48 hours.

Any water for cooking, drinking or cleaning should be brought to a rolling boil for three minutes before use, according to American Water. Water is typically OK for bathing, washing and other non-drinking uses.

More information will be provided if the condition changes and when normal water use will resume.

"We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issue," American Water said in its emergency alert.
