MetroBus driver, 3 other passengers heading to the hospital after crash in south St. Louis

The bus driver and one passenger were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Two other passengers told police they would take themselves to a nearby ER.

ST. LOUIS — There was a crash involving a MetroBus Thursday afternoon in south St. Louis. 

A spokeswoman with Metro Transit said around 3 p.m., a MetroBus was involved in a crash at Jefferson and Lafayette avenues near the Interstate 44 exit ramp. The department was handling the crash at that time. 

A bus driver asked paramedics for treatment on the scene and was taken to a local hospital, police said. There were 10 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident. Three people told police they were injured. One passenger was taken to the hospital and two others said they would take themselves to a local ER. 

There was no further information provided regarding the extent of their injuries. The nature of the accident remained unknown as of this report.
