ST. LOUIS — A child was killed in a crash in north St. Louis and another person was treated for injuries at a St. Louis hospital, police said.

St. Louis police officers responded to the April 17 crash at about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Union and Bircher boulevards near Interstate 70.

Police said a 3-year-old child was a passenger in a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 35-year-old woman. A 2006 Dodge Charger driven by a 24-year-old man ran the red light at the intersection and clipped the back of the Chevrolet.

The girl was thrown from the car. They were rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead. Police said the child was not secured with a child safety seat.

Police identified her on April 25 as 3-year-old Zoei Gregory.

The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The department's accident reconstruction unit responded to process the scene.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
