ST. LOUIS — Saint Louis University announced on Friday that its 2024 Commencement address will be delivered by St. Louis native Jon Hamm.

The award-winning actor will be attending the ceremony on May 18 in the Chaifetz Arena. SLU will livestream the event on its YouTube channel.

Hamm will receive an honorary degree from SLU, joining only three SLU alums in the school's history to receive honorary degrees.

Since his days at John Burrough's School in Ladue, Hamm has worked in countless movies and TV shows, most notably his starring role in "Mad Men."

Throughout Hamm's career, he has won Golden Globe Awards, Critics Choice Television Awards and multiple Screen Actors Guild nominations.

SLU shared that "Hamm has been a supporter of numerous charities including the Alzheimer’s Association, Cancer Research Institute, Stand Up To Cancer and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Hamm also helped local organizations like the St. Louis County Library Foundation and St. Louis Actor’s Studio Small Professional Theater Sustainment Fund raise money during the COVID-19 pandemic. "
