ST. LOUIS — Merchants in St. Louis’ Dogtown neighborhood spent this week gearing up for the Hibernian St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday.

Felix’s Pizza and Pub manager Ryan Lay said they started prep work last weekend. He said they’ll be bringing in extra help to staff bars they will have set up inside and outside, for the occasion.

“Holy cow, it’s a lot of prep work,” said Lay. “We are getting tons of cases of Guinness and vodka, and lots of pizza ingredients. So, anything people want, we are going to have, St. Patrick’s Day Weekend.”

Lay said they have had to recruit as many as 30 bartenders to work.

“We’ve been calling in some fantastic former employees,” said Lay. “It’s pretty much all-hands-on-deck!”
