Police working to identify suspect in March 5 shooting on MetroBus

Anyone who knows the shooter's identity or has any other information is asked to contact police.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Police are working to identify the man who shot and injured another passenger on a MetroBus in Vinita Park last week.

The North County Police Cooperative said the shooting happened at around 10:30 p.m. March 5 on the 1700 block of N. Hanley Road.

A passenger was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Surveillance video of the incident was released Tuesday, showing the shooter sitting in a seat near the back of the bus before standing up in the aisle and opening fire.

Anyone who knows the shooter's identity or has any other information is asked to call the police cooperative's Detective Bureau at 314-428-6868 or 314-499-6090.

The shooting was the first of two to occur on a MetroBus within the past week. On Monday, two passengers were fatally shot on a bus in Berkeley in what police said was a random act of violence. The shooter told police he didn't like the way one of the men had looked at him, according to charging documents.
