ST. LOUIS — Dogtown rolled out the green carpet for the canines on Sunday.

The Luck of the Paws dog costume contest at Heavy Riff Brewing Company was a warm-up event for St. Patrick’s Day and the Hibernian Parade in Dogtown.

The dress code was green. Pups were dressed up as leprechauns, shamrocks and other Irish-inspired creations.

“All the dogs are dressed up in their St. Patrick’s Day best,” said Jaci Wilson with Dogtown United. “Six lucky winners will snag fantastic prize bags filled with treats, toys and other doggy delights from BarK St. Louis, Sweet Em’s Coffee & Ice Cream, and Dogtown United. Local legends Series Six and Emily Stahl Design Co. will be anchoring our inaugural event to help us promote and prepare.”

The competition was fierce, but the judges carefully evaluated each entry.
