The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said that its officers responded shortly before 12:30 a.m. to a shooting in the area of Arco and Newstead avenues in St. Louis' Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his chest on the sidewalk along Newstead Avenue. Officers later found a second victim, a woman, with a gunshot wound inside a nearby home in the 4400 block of Gibson Avenue.

Paramedics responded to the first scene and transported the man to a St. Louis hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The woman was pronounced dead inside the home.

The victims were identified as 42-year-old Harris Kratzer and 36-year-old Chelsea Case. Police said both lived on the 4400 block of Gibson, near where they were found shot.

Another shooting happened about 10 minutes later near City Hall.

Paramedics transported him to a St. Louis hospital where he was listed in critical condition with stable vital signs.

The investigations into both shootings are ongoing.
