WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. — Crews stopped a brush fire that started near Washington Park, Illinois, Monday afternoon.
The French Village Fire Department was called to the scene at about 4:48 p.m. near Forest Boulevard and Brinson Drive.
The large brush fire was burning in a heavily wooded area near that intersection. Crews battled the blaze for five hours.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
