Shooting in St. Louis' Penrose neighborhood leaves 1 dead

ST. LOUIS — A man was shot and killed late Tuesday night, St. Louis police said.

According to an incident report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened at about 10:45 Tuesday night near the intersection of North Taylor and San Francisco avenues in the city's Penrose neighborhood.

Police said the male victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The department's homicide detectives are handling the ongoing investigation.

Police have not provided any other information at the time of publication. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
