6 days to get a discounted ride to the top of the Arch in 2024

Here's when you can ride to the top of the Gateway Arch for a discounted price.

ST. LOUIS — If you've been wanting to visit St. Louis' most iconic landmark, fee-free days are the perfect opportunity to visit the Gateway Arch for a little less.

While admission is always free, Gateway Arch National Park charges a $3 fee on every adult tram ride to the top of the Arch and tickets to its documentary movie.

On fee-free days, National Park Service fees are waived at the Gateway Arch and all other National Park sites throughout the U.S.

Here are the fee-free days for 2024:

  • Jan. 15 - Martin Luther King Day
  • April 20 - First day of National Park Week
  • June 19 - Juneteenth
  • Aug. 4 - Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
  • Sept. 28 - National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11 - Veterans Day

On these days, tram rides to the top of the Arch will be discounted from $15 to $12 for adults, and documentary tickets will be discounted from $7 to $4 for adults.

The museum and visitor center under the Gateway Arch is free to all visitors. Renovated in 2018, the museum tells the history of St. Louis and shows the routes followed by pioneers as they moved westward through the Gateway City.
