Cahokia Heights police investigating fatal single-car crash as domestic murder-suicide

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to a St. Louis area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. — Two people were found Tuesday afternoon in a crashed car in Cahokia Heights, and police are investigating their deaths as a murder-suicide.

Cahokia Heights Police Department Maj. Tony Tomlinson said the department received a call just after 1:30 p.m. about a single-car crash near Robert L. Price Road and Park Drive near Frank Holten State Recreation Area.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a car in a wooded area off the roadway with a man and woman inside. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene just before 4:30 p.m.

The St. Clair County coroner identified the woman as Tiera Glasper, 40, of Belleville, Illinois. 

The man was taken to a St. Louis area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

As of Tuesday evening, police have not released the man's identity until they notify his next of kin.
