Veterans recognized with parades, ceremonies across St. Louis

The annual parade was held in downtown St. Louis.

ST. LOUIS — Veterans were honored on Saturday with parades and ceremonies held across St. Louis and the Metro East.

The annual St. Louis Veterans Day Parade stepped off at 18th and Olive streets near the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum.

Veterans were also recognized in University City, where they concluded a year-long centennial celebration of the city's parks.

In Edwardsville, American Legion Post 199 hosted the annual Veterans Day Parade.

Other celebrations took place in O'Fallon, Illinois; St. Charles; and St. Peters.

Veterans Day is observed every year on November 11.
