Person in custody, pedestrian seriously injured in Creve Coeur hit-and-run

Police said Friday afternoon the vehicle was found and the suspect turned himself in.

CREVE COEUR, Mo. — A person was hospitalized with serious injuries after a hit-and-run in Creve Coeur Thursday night. 

The hit-and-run happened around 8:30 p.m. at Old Olive West Road at Guelbreth Lane, less than half a mile from North Lindbergh and Olive Boulevards.

The pedestrian, an adult man, was walking along the crosswalk when the silver SUV struck them and drove away.

A passerby dialed 911, prompting EMS to respond and take the victim to the hospital.

According to police Friday afternoon, the vehicle linked to the incident was found and investigators were able to identify the driver. The driver, identified only as an adult man, later turned himself in, police said.

Police said charges are pending.
