MADISON COUNTY, Ill — The Madison County Sheriff's Office said a runaway 12-year-old boy who walked away from his home has been found safe.
The boy was reported missing Wednesday from his home in Holiday Shores, Ilinois, an unincorporated community north of Edwardsville. The sheriff's office said he left a note saying he was going to run away from home, and surveillance video captured him leaving that morning.
In a Wednesday evening update, the sheriff's office said the boy had been found.
