ST. LOUIS — A 27-year-old woman was shot in the legs while driving on Interstate 70 in St. Louis Friday.
The incident happened at about 5 p.m. on I-70 near Madison Street, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said a woman was driving eastbound when a white Nissan Altima that was driving recklessly began to tailgate her. The woman said she sped up to get away from him as he flourished a gun at her. He then pulled up to her driver's side and fired a shot through her door, striking her in the legs.
She drove to the area of Cass Avenue and Tucker Boulevard, where first responders met with her and took her to an area hospital. Police listed her condition as "stable" as of Saturday morning.
An investigation is ongoing.
