ST. LOUIS — A man was killed in a rollover crash at the intersection of Vandeventer and Washington avenues in St. Louis early Thursday morning.
The two-vehicle crash happened at about 12:20 a.m., according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Investigators said a Jeep Wrangler was traveling southbound on Vandeventer when it ran a red light and hit a Nissan Altima. The force from the crash caused the Jeep to flip on its driver’s side and hit a light post, which then fell onto the Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. On Tuesday, police later identified the driver as 44-year-old Ted Freeman.
The driver of the Nissan was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. A passenger that was in the Nissan refused medical treatment.
St. Louis police's accident reconstruction unit is handling the investigation.
