CRESTWOOD, Mo. — Fast-food chain Hardee's has closed a Crestwood location at 10224 Big Bend Road.

Parent company CKE Restaurants, of Franklin, Tennessee, didn't respond to a request for comment about the property, owned by Begonia Development Inc., tied to Michael Hellen of Los Angeles.

The mayor of Crestwood, Grant Mabie, said the closure of the business wasn't unexpected.

"Despite the spectacular success and customer traffic that Sam's Club and Culver's enjoy at the (Interstate 44 and Big Bend interchange), the Hardee's store has inexplicably struggled for years," Mabie said.

"We look forward to a more successful operation transforming that space and joining the Crestwood business community," he said.
