SULLIVAN, Mo. — A person was hit and killed on a highway in Sullivan, Missouri, Thursday morning.
Daniel Kern, a 63-year-old man from Seymour, Missouri was standing in the second lane on I-44 in Sullivan, when he was hit by a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report said
Interstate 44 was closed at mile marker 226 and traffic backed up on eastbound lanes for nearly a mile.
Traffic was diverted to exit the highway at a ramp and immediately re-entering the highway at the on-ramp.
The crash happened a 4:39 a.m. Thursday, the report said. The driver of the Equinox, from Sullivan, suffered minor injuries.
