Three men killed, another injured in shooting on Cote Brilliante

Officials said the fourth victim ran to a nearby convenience store and was in critical condition.

ST. LOUIS — Three men were killed, and another was sent to the hospital after a shooting in north St. Louis on Saturday afternoon.

Multiple shots rang out around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Cote Brilliante Avenue and Euclid Avenue, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found two men dead near a parked car. Another man later died at the hospital.

On Monday, the victims were identified as 18-year-old Armaud Green, 21-year-old Davion Rayford and 22-year-old Jeremiah Curry.

Officials added that a fourth victim, a 20-year-old man, ran to a nearby convenience store. Police said he is in critical condition and his vitals were stable at last check.

St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden said investigators found two guns and 50 shells on the street. A police report also stated two firearms and suspected narcotics were recovered at the scene.

Hayden told reporters this was the first triple homicide in six months.

"As we dig. We'll know more about motive and what have you but right now, it's always very tragic to learn that three people are deceased in one incident. I mean that's unfortunate," he added.

"It's almost like living in Iraq or somewhere because you're dodging bullets and you're hitting the ground," said Vivian Reed, who has lived in the neighborhood for decades.

Reed said she and her neighbors have continued to demand more security.

“We asked for more lighting. We ask for more policeman and we're not getting it.  You know we're not getting it," she added.

It is unclear who may have fired the shots.
