ST. LOUIS — If you're looking to develop an edge to land that dream job, the City of St. Louis offers a number of free, online professional workshops each week.

Different topics are covered every day.

Thursday's topic explains what to expect in a hiring test that you may be required to take to get a particular job.

The workshops are offered by the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) and the state of Missouri.

SLATE Job Center open on walk-in basis

Looking for career training or maybe a new job opportunity?

The SLATE Missouri job center is currently open to the public. Appointments  are not needed.

You need to be 18 or older and live in the City of St. Louis to qualify.

SLATE can also connect you with financial assistance through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to cover tuition and training.

Courses are available for high-demand jobs in healthcare, automotive, IT, manufacturing and the financial industry.

To find out more, drop by the career center at 1520 Market Street. It's located on the third floor in room 3050 in St. Louis. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
