St. Luke’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic relocating to Chesterfield Mall on April 5

The clinic will be open only to those with appointments

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — St. Luke’s Hospital is relocating its COVID-19 vaccine clinic from its campus to a new location on the upper level of Chesterfield Mall near Macy’s, in the old H&M store.

The new space will open April 5.

“There are still people who have not gotten their vaccine. We still have supply issues. And even as more supply comes down, there’s a need to do those vaccines at certain places. So why not do it here at Chesterfield Mall?” said Dr. Michael Klevens, St. Luke’s network medical director of emergency services.

He said the mall’s owners, The Staenberg Group, donated the space and that the clinic will be at the mall for as long as necessary.

St. Luke’s said the larger space at Chesterfield Mall offers more flexibility for the hospital to increase its vaccination capacity and “better serve the community as vaccine supply increases over time.”

The bigger space allows them to administer 2,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine per day, six days a week, doubling their capacity.

“Walking straight through the mall 'til you get to your vaccine site where all the precautions have been taken, it's probably one of the safest places you can get your vaccine,” said Dr. Pearl Phillip, a St. Luke’s Hospital infectious disease specialist.

Vaccine doses are administered by appointment only to individuals on St. Luke’s waiting list who are currently eligible to receive the vaccine in Missouri. St. Luke’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic is unable to accommodate walk-in requests. Though doctors on site at a walk-through of the new clinic said they might be able to offer any remaining doses at the end of the day to people at the mall when the clinic closes — though, they stress there are rarely many leftovers.

To pre-register, visit St. Luke’s vaccine website.

St. Luke’s is urging those who are not currently eligible to receive a vaccine to pre-register. When they become eligible to get vaccinated, St. Luke’s will send them an appointment invitation via email if the vaccine clinic has doses and appointments available.

Missouri is currently vaccinating populations in Phase 1A, all tiers of Phase 1B, and Phase 2. Phase 3, which includes all Missouri adults, will be activated on April 9.
