ST. LOUIS — After a breezy day Wednesday, get ready for even stronger winds on Thursday.

Winds from the south will increase through the overnight hours into early Thursday morning across the bi-state region. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for much of the area including all of the metro St. Louis area from 6 a.m. through 6 p.m. Thursday.

Frequent wind gusts above 40 miles per hour are expected during the day. The strongest winds are most likely during the mid to late morning into the mid-afternoon hours.

The persistent wind gusts may result in a few isolated power outages across the area. Loose items left outside will likely be blown around by the wind. Be sure to secure your garbage can and any patio furniture that may be outside.

Driving, especially in a high profile vehicle, will be a bit challenging on east-west roadways with the strong southerly winds.
