ST. LOUIS — The Humane Society of Missouri recently hit a major milestone amid the coronavirus pandemic – 1,000 pet adoptions through its curbside pickup service.

When the pandemic began in March, the organization had to adjust its practices for the safety of staff, adopters and animals while maintaining ensuring social distancing.

So, it formed its curbside pickup service so that pre-approved adopters could pick up their pets without getting out of their car.

HSMO will continue to offer curbside pickup for the foreseeable future, according to a press release. The organization said many kittens are currently available for adoption and until July 26; there are no fees on adult cats and kittens are $75.

Anyone interested in adopting can call the Humane Society at 314-951-1562.
