Quick hit of snow moves out, cold dry weather until Sunday

Wet snow, then a cold night

ST. LOUIS — Snow has been falling in the bi-state, some areas have seen large snow flakes and that has reduced the visibility in those areas. The snow quickly pushes into Illinois and that's when our temperatures will begin dropping into the 20s.

Temperatures will stay above freezing in most areas until after the mix/snow moves out. Some areas will see up to 1/2" of snow in grassy areas. Roads are wet and as the temperatures drop, they could get icy late tonight as temperatures fall into the low 20s.

The Futurecast is a rough estimate of the timing on this quick burst of rain and snow. Don't worry about shoveling any snow with this one.

Saturday will be dry with clearing expected in most areas.  Highs will be below average in the mid and upper 30s.

Just trace amounts of snow are possible for the St. Louis Metro area. In the heavier bursts of snow, 1/2" is very possible on grassy areas.
