Get ready St. Louis, the next round of winter weather is headed our way

Snow expected for some Wednesday, upwards of 2 inches south of St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — After Tuesday morning's dusting of snow, skies will remain cloudy ahead of our next round of snow expected for Wednesday. 

The approaching system is moving across the southern Gulf states and will brush up against the bi-state through the day Wednesday. 

Snow will start south of the metro area as soon as Tuesday night, just after midnight with better chances of snow arriving in St. Louis metro just after the morning rush hour Wednesday.

Snow will be spotty through the morning, becoming more widespread by lunchtime. Heavier, steadier snow will fall south of St. Louis.

St. Louis metro should receive a dusting to 1 inch of snow by Wednesday afternoon before it all comes to an end.

Areas south of St. Louis toward Lake of Ozarks and near Rolla could pick up to 1 to 2 inches of snowfall.

Snow comes to an end Wednesday evening. The weekend forecast is brighter and warmer with 50s returning by Sunday afternoon.
