ST. LOUIS — Three teenagers were involved in a robbery behind a Kentucky Fried Chicken in south St. Louis right around the lunchtime rush Saturday.

Police received a call for a hold-up that happened earlier behind the fast-food restaurant at 3517 S. Grand.

A 13-year-old boy told police he was walking behind the KFC when two boys about his age walked up and said they were robbing him. The first suspect tried to take the boy’s cell phone, but the victim wouldn’t give it up, leading to a struggle. That’s when the boy said the second suspect pulled out a gun and forced him to hand over the phone.

The young suspect ran away, the boy told police. He said he wasn’t injured.

At 3:35 p.m., police officers on patrol in the same block as the KFC said they saw the first suspect sitting at a bus stop. The boy was taken into custody and turned over to the juvenile courts.

The second robbery suspect was described as being between 13 and 15 years old. He was wearing a black hoodie and green pants.
