Woman killed in Wentzville hit-and-run was hit by a St. Charles County snowplow

Police said the driver of the snowplow had no clue he hit her

WENTZVILLE, Mo. — The woman who was killed in a Wentzville hit-and-run last week was hit by a St. Charles County snowplow, police said on Tuesday.

On Nov. 11, police responded to the 2500 block of Pitman Road for a report of a person who had been struck by a vehicle.

Wentzville police believe she was having car trouble and got out of her car to get help when she was hit.

Nadia Nascimento was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Road conditions were bad on the day of the accident.

The Wentzville Police Department said after reviewing video footage from surrounding businesses and interviewing witnesses it was discovered a snowplow belonging to the St. Charles County Highway Department was in the area at the time Nascimento had been struck. The snowplow was examined by police and they found evidence that it hit Nascimento.

Police said the driver had no clue he hit her.

‘After reviewing all the facts and circumstances in this case it appears to have been a tragic accident,’ The Wentzville Police Department said in a press release.

Police said the case was forwarded to the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review and they determined there will be no criminal charges filed at this time.

Nascimento was the mother of three and her fiance is now taking care of them. Friends and family described her as a 'beautiful soul.'
