Police no longer looking for car involved in shooting, kidnapping incident in St. Louis

The woman was not injured by gunfire and knows the suspect, police said.

ST. LOUIS — Police are no longer looking for a car involved in a shooting and kidnapping in south St. Louis.

According to police, the vehicle wanted was involved in an accident Monday morning. Officers located the vehicle near Natural Bridge and Goodfellow around 8 a.m. after it fled from a traffic stop.

A 22-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were transported to a hospital with injuries from the accident. Police said they are believed to be the suspect and victim in an incident that happened on Sunday.

On Sunday, a woman was standing near Chippewa Street and Louisiana Avenue when a man in a blue Subaru BRZ drove up and fired shots at her feet. He then forced the woman into the car and drove off.

Police recovered a firearm from the car on Monday.

The woman was not injured by gunfire and knows the suspect, police said.
