Woman starting her car was carjacked in the Shaw neighborhood

Police said they responded to the 1900 block of Lawrence Street around 5:10 p.m. where a 36-year-old woman was carjacked.

ST. LOUIS — A woman was carjacked in St. Louis’ Shaw neighborhood Monday evening.

Police said they responded to the 1900 block of Lawrence Street around 5:10 p.m. where a 36-year-old woman said she had started her 2009 Honda Civic when two unknown men approached her.

One of the carjackers pointed a gun at her and demanded she get away from her car. The two men got into her car and left the scene. The woman was not injured.

Her purse was inside her car at the time of the carjacking. Police said the purse was found in the 4900 block of Southwest Avenue and returned to the woman.
