UAW workers to vote on tentative GM deal

Local 2250 members tell 5 On Your Side they will vote Thursday.

WENTZVILLE, Mo. —
Members of United Auto Workers Local 2250 in Wentzville tell 5 On Your Side they will vote on the tentative GM deal next Thursday.

GM and the union agreed on a four-year contract that would give workers a mix of pay raises, lump-sum payments and $11,000 signing bonuses while allowing GM to close some factories in other states. The workers have to approve it.

The voting process is expected to begin Saturday for 49,000 members nationwide. Local 2250 said they will have informational meetings Tuesday and take a vote Thursday.

UAW says workers will keep striking until all members vote.
