Dogtown Pizza co-owners Rick and Meredith Schaper’s goal is to help grow and develop the St. Louis food industry while making delicious pizzas.

“Our partnership with Gioia’s Deli helps to keep both of our businesses local and thriving,” said the Schapers. “When St. Louis thinks of hot salami, they think of Gioia’s. That’s why we had to have their product on our pizzas.”

The hot salami pizza will be available at all locations that sell Dogtown Pizza. As of Sept. 19, they are available at all Dierberg’s, some Schnucks, and Vincent’s market in Soulard. They will be in all Schnucks and local markets that sell DTP as of the 24.

A brand new hamburger pizza, not associated with Gioia’s Deli, will also launch the same day.

“Rick and Meredith are all about family and friends when it comes to their business,” said Alex and Amanda Donley, co-owners of Gioia’s Deli. “We’re proud to not only be their friends, but also to further share our 100-year tradition and flavor with the people of St. Louis through Dogtown Pizza.”

Gioia’s Deli has been famous for its homemade hot salami since 1918. They currently have three delis – one on The Hill, one in downtown St. Louis, and another in Creve Coeur.
