We're tracking strong storms moving through St. Louis Friday afternoon

The good news? Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day look good and dry!

ST. LOUIS — Strong storms are possible in the St. Louis area Friday afternoon.

While widespread severe weather is not likely, one or two storms may cause damaging winds and spin up an isolated low-end tornado.

A small scale area of low pressure is moving across Missouri. This brought rain across western and central Missouri Friday morning.

Expect scattered showers and a few thunderstorms for the afternoon in and near St. Louis. Severe thunderstorms are possible between midday and early in the evening.

Most areas will experience just rain and non-severe thunderstorms.

Friday evening, rain will continue to spread east into Illinois. The severe weather threat will weaken in the evening and overnight.

Rain will ease to showers overnight. For the rest of the weekend, isolated showers are possible in the bi-state. Widespread rain is not forecast Saturday or Sunday. Monday looks dry for St. Louis.
