Security camera captures gunmen firing at car in south St. Louis

Neighbors said the sound of gunfire is a regular occurrence in Benton Park West, but this time it was different.

A home security camera captured two gunmen hanging out of an SUV, firing shots at another car on Wyoming Street in south St. Louis Wednesday morning.

Joe Rich was working from home and heard the gunfire just before 10 a.m. He checked to see what his camera recorded.

"There’s obviously one shooter from the sunroof, and then you'll see a gun on this side, just the silhouette of it, from the passenger side,” he said.

Joe said the sound of gunfire is a regular occurrence in Benton Park West, but this time it was different.

"Blatant and in broad daylight,” he said. "You never expect it to actually happen in front of you.”

Another neighbor’s camera captured the sound of the gunfire. Eight shots rang out as the SUV appeared to chase a sedan in front of it.

Police said the officers who responded didn't find any victims or suspects. Joe hopes his and his neighbors' videos help them catch the shooters.
