Appeals court says city shouldn't have issued liquor license to new CWE bar

Up-Down will be allowed to keep serving alcohol while the legal process plays out.

ST. LOUIS — A new arcade bar opened in the Central West End a couple of weeks ago. Now, the future of its liquor license is up in the air.

An appeals court said the city shouldn't have granted Up-Down Bar a liquor license because it didn't consider whether the bar could be a detriment to the neighborhood.

Neighbors tell 5 On Your Side they're worried about the congestion, noise and late hours.

Up-Down will be allowed to keep serving alcohol while the legal process plays out.
