7 people shot in an hour overnight in St. Louis

The shootings involved PCP, an incident inside a bar and an innocent bystander getting hit with a bullet.

ST. LOUIS — Seven people were shot within an hour overnight in St. Louis. All of the victims survived their injuries.

Police first responded at 12:51 a.m. to the 4500 block of Davison, which is in the Walnut Park East neighborhood in north city.

The 39-year-old victim told police she was with two friends in the 5800 block of Garesche when one of the men got mad after smoking PCP. She said he pulled out a gun and shot at her. According to what she told police, that’s when the other friend grabbed two knives and fireplace tool and tried to stab her.

The woman was able to get out of the house, but as she was getting away, the first man grabbed another gun and shot at her again. She was able to flag down a driver to get help.

The woman suffered injuries to her head and leg. Police said she is at a hospital and is stable.

Just 11 minutes later, police got another call for a shooting. This time, three people had been shot in the 1500 block of Washington Avenue near several popular restaurants and bars.

The victims told police they saw four men crouching behind a parked car on Washington at 16th Street. As they drove by, the men who were hiding behind the car shot at the men inside the car, according to police. An 18-year-old man and 20-year-old man inside the car were grazed by bullets, but their injuries weren’t severe and they were treated at the scene.

A 27-year-old woman who was inside the nearby English Living venue was hit by a stray bullet. She was taken to a nearby hospital and is stable, police reported.

Three windows at the English Living venue were damaged along with three cars that were parked outside.

Police are still looking into who fired the shots.

At 1:52 a.m., three more people were shot downtown. Officers responded to the Voce Bar at 212 S. Tucker near Clark for the report of a shooting. They arrived to find three people had been shot inside the bar: a 39-year-old man, 24-year-old woman and 38-year-old woman. They were all listed in critical condition Sunday but were stable, police reported.

Police said they’re searching for a man who’s about six feet tall. He was wearing a black t-shirt, khaki cargo shorts and had a beard.

The investigation is still active.

Police have not released any further details about the shootings.
